BBC News presenter in ‘tight leather trousers’ faces backlash for on-air outfit

A BBC News host has faced horrible comments from online trolls after wearing a pair of “tight leather trousers” while presenting the news from the iconic red sofa

A BBC presenter who was criticised for wearing “tight leather trousers” while broadcasting the news has shared a savage statement to her haters. The host wore a pair of black leather trousers while reading the news from her red couch, which got her a lot of attention from viewers.

Amanda Harper, a presenter for BBC’s Look North, faced some brutal comments about her outfit as trolls said she looked “unflattering,” “terrible” and “horrid” in the trousers. However, some people rushed to her defence and shouted that she looked “gorgeous” as one person cheered: “You go Amanda!”

She then defiantly took to social media to launch her own tirade against the naysayers. The newscaster shared herself in the controversial outfit with the caption: “I’m delighted that lovely people outnumber the not so lovely. Thank you for the reminder. The trousers live on. In fact I might even wear them more often.’

“This video sparked a wave of nasty comments… But most people were kind. The trousers stay.”

Many of her fans were glad to hear that she is planning on wearing them again in the future and rallied round her with support. Someone commented: “Definitely wear them again. You look fabulous.”

A second fan typed: “You look incredible, and you dress to please yourself,” as a third joined in: “Keep wearing-it really hacks off the haters.”

Another commenter noted that every time their mum sees Amanda presenting on Look North, “we say how lovely you always look, we love your outfits and style!”

This comes after BBC Breakfast legend Carol Kirkwood leaves the broadcaster after an incredible 28 years on air. The 63-year-old tearfully revealed her choice to quit the BBC in a statement released in January, saying it had “not been an easy decision to make”.

Instead of reaching three decades with the show, Carol has decided to ditch the UK in favour of warmer climes as she seeks the heat of Majorca with her husband Steve.
