Ant McPartlin addressed the I’m A Celebrity controversy as he returned to TV for the first time since the pre-recorded final aired. The presenter reunited with Declan Donnelly to host the inoffensive Britain’s Got Talent semi-final and made a jibe at this years’ campmates.

BGT returned to telly screens on Saturday night, just one night after the explosive I’m A Celeb final aired – which saw the presenters stepping in as Jimmy Bullard claimed he was subjected to ‘abusive’ behaviour by winner Adam Thomas in scenes that weren’t shown.

Later, Ant appeared to have another confrontation with Jimmy as he approached him in the carpark looking furious, before security eventually deescalated the situation. Whilst BGT is a much-more subdued hosting experience the drama was clearly still on Ant’s mind as he made a cheeky little swipe at the controversial campmates.

The 50-year-old joked that he “loves live TV” within minutes of walking on to the Britain’s Got Talent stage and then asked the judging panel Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, KSI and Simon Cowell to keep things civil.

He said: “We had quite enough drama on the tele last night, so can you please you four be on your best behaviour tonight”.

Ant then referred to Sinitta storming out of the ITV final during the heated exchange, adding: “If you misbehave, you’ll be out of here quicker that Sinitta”.

Amanda, 55, then praised Ant and Dec for how they handled the tricky situation.

She laughed: “After watching you two last night, I’ve learned from the best. I can handle the pressure of a semi-final.”

Ant’s comments comes after he was reportedly heard calling the I’m A Celeb final a “f****** mess” as he walked off stage vaping, whilst contestant Scarlett Moffatt was sat “crying her eyes out” at one point, and Gemma Collins stormed off alongside Sinitta.

The grand finale of BGT airs on May 30.
